it sorta looks like the pox. go to www.zoaid.com to research further. I lost a lot of polyps in my small tank but have just recently started a new collection in my 75Gallon. I'm afraid to transfer the remaining corals I have in my 12gallon to the 75

thanks aquarius i posted these on another forum and thats what they said also.. any ideas why the paly's do this? .. what's the main difference between a zoa and a paly? just the size?

IT helps give strength to the stolen(stalk), as they grow they will take up bits of sand and detritus and embed it in the tissue. P.Grandis does this as well that is why some of the palythoa species have a leathery feel to them. It also might help with deterring predators by making the outer tissue to hard to eat......
