Zoa pox?

Ohio

New member
This polyp came on one of my pieces of LR, it has white dots covering the stalk and I am concerned about the zoas that I have purchased in the tank. Is this something I need to be concerned with? Can it spread to the other zoas? If so, will removing these polyps keep that from happening? This zoa came with the LR and is not very pretty, I am not concerned about necessarily keeping it. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm not 100% put I read something about certain paly's possibly being able to incorporate the fine sand into their stalk in order to build tissue??

Thanks for your input, hope this is the case. I didn't want to attempt to remove it. Not sure how difficult that would be due to the size rock it is on/

Its very common for some palys to have those spots. They are some kind of chemical deposit and not zoa pox.

You will also see these in Nuclear Greens and Purple Deaths.
