See a lot of white dots on my purple death. They are all opening when lights are on and it's still growing fast. Is it Zoa pox? But I read that if its Zoa pox the zoas will closing up and dying , but mine are still growing.

Yeah it's zoa pox, they can look just fine and still have it but will eventually die off, the only thing that's worked for me is Furan 2

Sure looks like zoa pox to me.

If I were in your shoes, I'd quarantine them and put them in a separate tank and watch how they do. Cuz it would suck if other colonies caught it. You never can be too safe.

Ok I don't think its zoa pox. I took it out today and I can scrape it off and it's hard. It's sugar fine sand.

Its not pox, palythoa varieties like Purple Death and Button polyps use sand and other calcareous objects to help build themselves. I'm pretty certain these varieties don't get pox. They're usually one of the hardiest types of palys.

Pox cant be scraped off as it is an internal infection, right? I have purples that bring substrate up and incorporate it into their base and it looks like lesions of some sort, but they are still doing great.
