I have some zoas on a rock there are some on the top and some on the bottom. The top ones get good light, the bottom ones don't get any. Will they die without light?? There is no possible way for both to get equal amounts the bottom ones are deep in a crevice.
I haven't seen them open in a couple of days.. they where small so I don't think they can extend their stalk far enough. The ones on top are bigger, should I turn the rock around? there are about 4 polyps on top and 3 on the bottom
I would let it go, by leaving the rock alone they will grow the direction where they feel more comfortable and thrive, by not disturbing them helps them spread faster also.
Ok, but they don't open or anything. Since i had that rock the top one multiplied 3 times, and the bottom one once, but i changed tank and the bottoms ones get less light so I have not seen them open
You may lose the ones on the bottom, or they may adjust and survive. I have some growing on the bottom of my tank in shade. If you really want to save those you may need to frag the rock. Honestly I would not worry about it, soon you will have to many to count any ways.
