Zoa Toxins

I had to move a rock covered in zoas (don't know their name, they're a forest green color), and some of them had grown on to the back wall of tank. I had to tear the edge of the colony to pull the rock away. The colony is fine, they opened back up, but now several of my softies (mushrooms, other zoas, etc.) have shriveled up all day. Did the damaged zoas release toxins in the water? Will the other corals recover? (And yes, I always wash my hands after handling corals.)

Anything is possible. The corals may have also closed because they didn't like the turbulence as you moved things around. Did you do a water change to remove any possible toxins? Do you have proper filtration?
