Zoanthid and Paly Polyps - What Causes Some to be much Smaller than they Should Be?

What Causes Some Zoanthid and Paly Polyps to be much Smaller than they Should Be?

For Instance usually the Average Paly Polyps are like 2 to 4 Times Larger than the Average Zoanthid Polyp.

Yet I have a Frag of Sunny D's Palys where are the Polyps are about a Quarter of the Size of an Average Zoanthid Polyp.

Then I have another Frag of Sunny D's in another Aquarium that has Polyps a good 10 Times the Size of the Polyps in the Other Tank and they are the Same Paly?

What causes this?

How can I get the Tiny Polyps to Look Big and Normal again?

Absolutely , although regualar size varies and is more of an average
