Zoanthid Eating Spider

Anyone ever seen these on there Zoas? Dont have them but no one ever talks about them. Are they as bad on nudis?

They suck just as much as nudis...The problem with spiders is they lay eggs inside the polyp so you can see them untill its to late.

unfortunatly, yes. people have seen them on their zoas eating away!

So they lay Eggs. Does any one have pics of what they might look like. I always want to keep on top of things. Also, anything that kills them? Dips? Fish? I think we should talk more about this issue just in case. All it takes is a few of us to have it then it will spread.

Sorry my typing was bad, You can't see the eggs because they are inside the polyp. Then they hatch and spread comming out of the polyp itself. By this time it's to late and you are infected. If you have a serious infestation you will have to dip multiaple times over a week or two. I have only seen one spider in all of the colonies I have. I re-dipped all colonies and have not seen another since, this was many months back......

OK, So the polyps will be closed if you have any issues because the eggs are in them? I have never seen one but I have see pics.

Do wrasses eat these buggers just curious for prevention.

Im sure a wrasse will take care of these spiders....Wrasses eat anything! lol

I haven't heard or read about any fish cure for spiders. It would be something good to know...
