Zoanthid frag favoring low light. Can this be changed?

Hi guys. So I have a frag of ring of fire zoanthids. They are in a tank of 17 gallons with 2 koralia 800 and an AI sol super blue at 30W 40B 43RB at about a foot above the tank. There are two other zoanthid frags currently. Planning it to be mainly a zoanthid garden with a few acans and maybe some ricordea.

So in this tank, my watermelon and dragon eye zoas are doing fine, growing very quickly and showing lots of color. However, I have never noticed my frag of Ring of fires to open up. At a time, I would notice 1 or 3 polyps, but not all. I placed in all areas of the tank, up, down, high flow and lower flow, and never all opened. I couldn't see any pests on it. The skirt seemed a bit more scrawny compared to the fleshy skirts of the others. While never really opening and looking scrawny, it was growing. I started with 4 polyps and in 2 months, I now have 15 polyps.

I then did a rescape yesterday. In one part of the scape, a rock sort of hangs over and created a dark spot. I noticed that the growth of the zoanthid seemed to be attempting to spread to under the frag plug instead of filling it out, so I placed it in the dark spot, thinking maybe it wants a lot less light.

Within minutes, mostly all the polyps are open, more than I have ever seen them.

It's great and all, but is it possible to get it used to higher light? It has been in my tank (I guess getting too much light) for about 2 months and hasn't ever adjusted. Has this zoanthid been known to prefer low light (practically in the dark)? I wouldn't want to be limited to having it under a rock the whole time. Thank you so much in advance.

Yes, but have to be gradually adjusted to the light.

I usually start all incoming Z's and P's at the bottom not directly under the light, the every couple weeks start moving them directly under the light and moving them up the rock work as time moves. IF they start fading or closing up I move them back down to previous area where they were happy last. They will tell you where they are most happy at.

my 100gal has zoas all over the tank.. on the bottom, mid section, upper section.. they are all doing great.

I'm running Kessil LED.. around 250 par on highest section... 100 par on sand bed..
