Zoanthid Growth

I've had my zoanthids for about 2-3 months now and have not moved them at all because they're in a great spot. But they're not growing I've been counting a lot and at the end of each week I always count 19. Are there any ways to make them spread faster? I spray them with Kent MicroVert 2-3 times a week. All of the polyps are opened when the light is on. The light is on for about 10 hours per day. Are there any ways to make them grow faster? And what do zoanthids look like when they first start to become a polyp. Does anybody know?

hmmm... a great spot to you might not but so great to them and might be why they aren't changing whatsoever. that being said some of my zoa's grow and spread like wildfire and some are fairly slow going.
new growth looks like a smaller version of a closed polyp.

I had a similar situation with Rastas. Zero growth in what I thought was a good spot, but when I moved the frag (well, knocked it off the rock it was on and just left it where it fell) it started adding new polyps like crazy. There was something about the lighting or flow that it preferred in the new spot and so it started to grow.

I put another rock with zoas on it right next to the rapidly growing Rastas thinking the new one would do the same. But, no. Nothing. Not a single new head.

Then my foxface ate them all.

Good luck. As long as they're not dying, leave them alone.
