40 % water change is rather high. I wiould recommend u to use a bigger of protein skimmer if u really have problems with nitrate. I do have zoas that won't open from time to time while the others are fine, not sure what is the reason. I have a my clementines colomy that was closed up for 2 weeks, then right now it is growing like crazy. Do u have a GFO reactor? It would help prevent algae growth on the polyps, which also contribute the polyps closed up.
