This is my first time at this site and i was wondering if I could ask a few questions?
1. I have a reef aquarium mixed with soft and hard coral but my zoanthids are not opening. I checked my nitrate, nitrite, phos, ammonia, pH and they are came back perfect. Can anyone help with suggestion?

2. My tank also have brown looking slim almost look like algae. I think that it was coming from the sunlight shinning on the tank in the corner.

any help will be consider

i know it sux to get a question instead of an answer but +1 for how long, and did you use live rock, what kind of water do you use....really what im getting at is there is alot of variables that can cause zoas to not open, something could be irritating them.
as far as the brown slime stuff, i had some in my tank when i first set it up but i used nothing but dry rock, i chopped it up to being phos but who knows it eventually went away once other algae took hold(such as coraline and stuff

Is the brown algae resembling a slime, or is it powdery? You said it's in the corner of your tank, give that area some more flow. Algae feeds off of nutrients, phosphate, nitrate.. Make sure your test kits are up to par. Have a lfs double check them for you. What is your lighting schedule ?
