Zoantihid tantacles growing long?

It seems that my zoanthid tentacles are getting a lot longer after putting a new frag in my tank.

They are growing super fast, but i was wondering what was causing them to grow out there tentacles.

Thanks

I'm not an expert, but I do have zoos and palays, actually a few full large colonies. I have never seen long tentacles on any of my zoos and I have other frags near buy. Could you post a pic?

Earthboy17. I have never target fed my zoos. I do feed a mixture of what I call "Reef Barf" which is a wide range mixture that I concocted myself by blending up and freezing all kinds of good stuff. From time to time I do feed "coral freenzy" about 1 x week. PM me if you are interested in the recipe

The conventional wisdom is that long zoanthid tentacles are a response to increased flow. That seems to be the way it works in my tank, those at the bottom and the corners have short tentacles, those in high flow areas have long tentacles.

are you all maybe talking about the tubes from the base to the head? I've never seen tentacles on a zoo? I have both in moderate and high flow areas. My palys do have the long tubes between the base and the head in high flow.

the flow thing may only be partially correct, but it stands to reason in my tank too. The colonies i have in high flow areas are long and hairy.

Odd. :D
