zoas always extended

Why are these two zoas always extended? I have them at the highest point with a maxspect razor and their still extended.

they're reaching for more light, how far up are they on the rock work compared to where your light is,

what's your lighting scheme, how far off is it from the waters surface.

The razor is on the leg kit that it comes with. Its probably about 8 to 9 inches from the light. I just ramped up the light intensity but they are still doing that. Peak is about white 55 n blue 80

Could it be anything else other then lighting?

raise them up a couple inches up the rock work leave them there for a couple weeks if they keep reaching do it again,. It take some time before they go back to normal.

I believe those are palys, not zoas. zoas tend to stay close, cluster together, and polyps are generally smaller. while palys tend to branch out, extent, and polyps are bigger. feed your palys, they will get bigger and branch out less, this is what I do.

As of right now they are at the highest point on my rocks. They are original AOG zoas. When i look them up they dont look extended like that. They certainly werent that way at the store and their leds were way higher then mine

More light I have aogs roughly 60 polyps on one frag and 10 on another. The 60 were down low started to extend. The 10 were up high and looked totally tight to the rock. Just moved the 60 up and it was fine. And added more white on my razors.

Whats ur light schedule on ur razor? My candy apple reds are doing the same thing aswell

Some grow like that, they look normal.

Not normal in any case I've seen. You will know when to stop when they begin to stay closer to the plug.

That's the beauty of zoanthinds and palys, they can tell you when they want more.
