zoa's close for days at a time

I have a hand full of zoa's in a 1year old tank with t5's. It first took them about 4 weeks to open and they still never really opened all the way, now they are closed again and have been for a couple days now. any idea what would cause this?

Are your water parameters good? I.E. Alk, Ca, Mg? Nitrates...PO4, and such?

unfortunatly this is my very first coral and I havent bought a test that show the alk, ca, mg ect... I am heading out tonight to get one.
