This and the picture in my next posting (still haven't figured out how to get more than one picture in a posting using photobucket) are of some zoas that have been in the tank about 3 months. They've looked fine and one day (almost overnight) appeared to not open. They've been shrinking and disappearing. I've noted a thread-like, flesh colored growth in the areas affected. That's what I've tried to get pictures of. These growths are branched and appear a little bulbous at the ends. I'm wondering if this is primary (cause of dying zoas) or secondary. The only place I see this thread-like growth is in the affected colony and it wasn't apparent until the zoas were closed and shrinking. Other zoa colonies in the tank still appear to be fine. Any ideas? I thought zoas were supposed to be almost indestructable.
