I have a colony of RPE that are shedding. Around 100 or so polyps, with about half closed on any given day for the last month. I havent done anything yet but am thinking about a lugols dip

try giving them a dip and inspect the colony carefully before you take them out of the tank and then while their in the dip use a small baster to blow off the frag and any crap that may be being a problem.

Hand, were in the same boat.. Saw my RPE in the tank took em out. FW dipped em same temp as tank. blasted em with the PH and put them back now there doing great.

Haven't ever seen my zoos do this... Is it a clear/white film that they are shedding?

Yes, its clear and white and there is white funk around the closed polyp. Like a layer of skin peeling.
I took them out, dipped them, didnt find anything other then some pods.
Placed them back and they still look like crap as of now

well I did another lugols dip yesterday and found an asterina star nestled in the colony. maybe thats whats been bothering mine
