Hi all,
long time reader... first time poster
My problem is that my zoas, big and small seem to be slowly declining. Everything else seems to be doing OK though.
My tank has been established for over 3-4 years, but went through a move about 3 months ago (when I acquired it). The zoas were purchased about two months ago. In that time they have been slowly shrinking. I'm worried they will eventually melt away. I have tried moving them up and down to try different lighting. (not sure if that's the problem) I recently got a PAR meter and measured 85-88 on the ones that are melting the fastest at the bottom of the tank... Par measured 120ish at the top... There are some zoa's located in the middle as well... As you can see below, i have plenty of room to increase the lighting but I wasn't sure if my lights were causing the melting.
Tank is 57 Gallon
40 gallon sump and a 30 gal fuge downstairs .
mp40s provide flow (set rather low on reefcrest so they don't blow sand all over the place)
My parameters:
PH 8.0-8.1
Specific gravity-1.025
Ca - around 360 usually ... last check jumped to 520
KH -8-9
Ammonia -0.0
Phosphates -0 ish
Nitrates and nitrites are also 0
Light settings:
2 Aquaillumination Vegas about 8" Above Water Line
All 3 blues: 45%

1 cleaner skunk shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp... which i never see but sheds occasionally
six or eight hermit crabs, mix of blue legs, red legs
a couple turbos, and a couple margarita snails, and 3 nassarius snails
SPS:
One piece that I don't know it's name that came with the tank
LPS:
Plate coral (bottom left)
Hammer (bottom middle left)
Frogspawn (bottom right)
Suncoral (bottom left)
and some kind of red one (top right corner)
Softies:
zoas... can't remember all the types... small tubbs blue, large Red, small orange, small bright green ones, Eagle eyes, and some various yellows, and a couple various ones here and there.
Some Duncans
Some green spotted, and green striped mushrooms, a psychadelic mushroom, some orange ricordeas
Green star poyps, some other kind of stars that came with the tank, and some small blue star polyps
If you need more info, let me know.
Thanks for the input!
