Zoas vs GSP

I have a rock island with a large colony of Zoas and GSP. The GSP is on the Zoas doorstep. Who wins this battle? I'm hoping the Zoas will keep the GSP at bay but either way, I'm just going to let nature take its course.

Yeah, I kinda figured that but I wasn't sure because you always hear about palytoxins that Zoas have.

I have some GSP growing between some of my palys/zoas and some montipora. The monitipora started growing straight up and blocked the GSP and the palys have not let it grow into its territory.

This is just my experience though.

If you want to keep those GSP at bay and let the zoanthids gain some ground just use some epoxy and smother them.

Good idea but I'm just gonna let whatever happens happen. That rock island was actually intended for the GSP anyway...then one day a zoa appeared and now it's a colony. I have so many Zoas in my tank that these guys can take one for the team...lol

On the island I do. I know GSP can become a weed, that's why it's isolated from the rest of the reef. Those particular Zoas weren't that colorful anyway.

I guess I was just curious...I know some mushrooms keep GSP at bay. I just wondered if Zoas can do the same. Always like to learn new things.

I would have liked them to coexist but if not, I would prefer the GSP on that rock.
