zoo being overtaken

For the last two months I have had a ridiculous amount of feather those white small feather dusters take over my zoes, its almost getting to the point to where I cant see them! Should I just leave them alone or what! And what would just cause a feather duster out break. I mean its like its intertwining making alink to another set of rocks
