zoo qustion

What would cause zoo's to grow a long stem's?
Also what causes zoo colonies to thin out?

i'm new to the hobby but most of my experance is with zoo's and from what i've found with the long stems between my and my budys tank is lighting (i think) hes got much higher lighting and a few kinds of them grow realy long stems when i put frags of them in my tank thay shorten up

Long stems result from Zoa's stretching to get as much light as possible.
