Zoos head popped off!

Ok I have had this strand of Purple People Eater, that was doing great for about 3 weeks, Just two days ( I only have 1 polyp) It started to shrivel. I doesnt close up, but appears as if the head is popping off and another is growing underneath it. Is this common? What can I do? I dont want to lose this strand it is pricey and beautiful.

Zoas/Palys will do this when stressed... Check your water params... Sounds like its time to do a change... Also something might be picking at them... HTH

Well all the other zoos in my tank are doing VERY well.

I just recently removed this poor lil guy from a spot high in the tank and under one of my returns.

It just looks partially closed to me.

i know my GSP closes right before it is going to expload in growth maybe it's doing that?

Well It is still reacting to its environmemt. I did a water change and it moved a bit, I saw some hermits crawl over it and then it closed up. So it still works and isnt closed when it looks like this, I wonder what it could be.

I agree with acidlittle. I had a polyp of purple purple zoos and thats very similar to what it looked like just before it started spreading. hope thats what ur case is. Keep us informed!

Im going to be keeping a close eye on this guy, I will post pictures of the progress good or bad.

I hope that it starts spreading though, well see.

I really don't pay that much attention to mine lately to see if any are doing that. I can say that I have read that when they are fragged they seem to grow faster for some reason (not PPE in particular but zoos in general). Keep us updated!
