Wow, I haven't seen one of those in 15 years. That is the notorious Isoclopneous Longa. Aka, the 4 eyed zooxanthellae monster and I can tell he has a full stomach.

OK, just kidding. I have no idea what that dude is, but I'm gonna forward this to someone who can assist you with an ID.

I took some flack a couple years ago for keeping such a sterile tank. By that I mean, everything that goes into my tank, gets a dip. Either medicinally or with fresh water. Corals are simply too expensive and sometime hard to find to risk a serious infestation via pathogen or predator, that could literally wipe out years of investments in time, money etc.

My question to you is this, what are you gonna do with him? And could you give us an idea of the size of this critter?

Thanks for sharing this picture with us. Just goes to show, everybody has something interesting going on or to share with their systems.

Please keep us posted.

PS. Lets try to narrow down the reason for your polyp retraction. Lets start with clicking on this link.

Or, take it to the local fish store. But if I don't know what it is, it's coming out.....PERIOD.

exactly. You had me going when you said it was a 4 eye monster hahaha. I was like "really? wow" haha

btw my local fish store can't tell the difference between a hammer coral and a frogspawn. I then told them.

Tomorrow I could take a picture those who eating my zoos

On Russian it's name is gamarus. I don't know they are name in English. Always I thinking that these bugs only eat an algae, but tomorrow I seen how they are like drinking juices from clothed zoas. Are you know how can I kill them all?

The last are amphipods. I have them in my tank but they do not seem to bother my corals. Some people say they have eating their zoanthids but I am thinking it may be because they are sick/dying. You can get a wrasse to help control them. I have heard of people using interceptor to wipe them out.

Do you still have the spiders in your tank? or did you already eradicate them?

Thanks for you answer!
I'm not seen spiders any more. All zoas look like very good, but after seats apmhipods on zoas they are don't open.
Are you know what fish or others interceptors I can put in my tank for wipe out this creatures?

This is what interceptor is:

I have a sixline wrasse and a flame hawkfish that I have seen eat amphipods. However amphipods mostly come out at night when the fish sleep. I would not say they will wipe out your amphipod population but may control it to a degree (at least the ones that come out during the day).

Anyone else have an idea on which fish is best?
