Zoos on a Bottle

Pardon all the posts..but the board is pretty dead lately...so I figured I'd just ask questions I keep forgetting to ask when up at Robs and get multiple ppls opinions on it..

I've tried glueing zoos to a glass bottle several times with Reef Glue... I want them to grow on the bottle..thought it would look nice. The glue takes for about two weeks..then they fall off...

Is there anything better I could be using? Should I just put a rubber band around it with the zoos on there? Or does anyone else have any other ides?

Thx...

is the bottle encrusted with any coraline? i think that would help. i have some small glass trees that i made. i've been wanting to glue some zoos and gsp to one,but havn't tried it yet.

Not sure how to get the desired effect, but I have zoos and palys that I throw into my sump just because I hate to just throw them out. Anyway, they are starting to grow onto a piece of pvc in my sump.

Well..the reef glue was the clear gel kind..it was $15 a bottle...heh..maybe I should just try regular super glue though...

Yeah...it was one of those things I didn't notice til I got home and looked at the receipt..its a big bottle though... I doubt I'll ever use it all..

I should pay more attention...heh...

One thing I hate about Pet Supermarket...is that their stuff is always in the wrong price bin... I spend about $250-$350 on dog food and treats there each month...and I've learned to pay attention to what the dog treats ring up as..sometimes they are in a 1.99 bin..and they ring up $4 something...I've emailed their customer svc about it...but no response...

cough...cough..$15 a bottle.

Actually it is a good deal when you realize that a 1-2 gram pack of regular super glue gel runs between $2.00 and $4.00. Most reef glue packages are 9-15 grams +.

Yeah, these pets and hobbies these days are just higher and higher prices. You need a good size loan to get the things you need on a reef related hobby, its just getting crazy. I am really not one to use a credit card, so Its cash only. This keeps me from buying a $300 skimmer etc:)

Yeah...I know what you mean...

I mean I guess I could spend less on dog food..but I am very picky about what my dogs eat... I get them all natural. I want them to be around for a long time..they are like my kids...

If you'd see the reports on regular dog food..and what goes in there..you would never feed it to your dogs!!!

That's true, most dog and cat food is all filler. Good brands don't really advertise. they spend their $$ on more R&D and ingredients. I worked for pet stores for many years and learned alot about pet nutrition.

But that is a good idea about the corals.

I paid $9.99 for a 2oz bottle of Maxi-Glue, Extra thick gel from Hobby Oasis. Unlike the tubes of s/g you get, these are actully full. Pretty good deal I think

Maybe try to rough the surface of the bottle w/ some coarse sandpaper to give it a better grip. I've superglued some zoos to some big shark teeth fragments I have and some will stick, while other times it seems the zoos don't like being there.....

As for the superglue discussion, my local dollar store has 2pks that cost me 2/$1.00 so I get 4 tubes for a buck. Stuff works great for me, and I don't spend much up front.
