my palys seem to lose a little color... not all of them, only a few... i had the brightest pink palys i've ever seen and they've all but turned brown, however i have some others that have every bit of color and more then when i got them....

also, i have a lot of palys that seem to be stretching and reaching, yet i have a clam thats doing very well the same height as the palys...

running 2x175 watt bulbs, 14K hamiltons... and 2x 55 watt actinic PC... i'd think that would be plenty of light for zoos in a 60 breeder.. nothing is on the sand bed, all zoos are at least 5 inches off the base....

i even moved one set of blues to within 7 inches of the top and it remained reaching despite being there for a month...

any ideas? any other things that make zoos reach?

maybe flow... I'm having the same issues and just added more flow to the tank.. we'll see if it'll help..

oh yeah, SE or DE?

I'd also check your Alk.
Most corals lose their bright colors when your alk is low.

Reaching zoas usually means they need more light. Got a pic?

i imagine the main reason why so many new zoa additions can seem to quickly start looking slightly different in many ppl's tanks is really just down to new lighting, eg change, fade, brighten up, morph abit etc etc.

stronger lighting in your tank can lead to either bleach/browny OR brightening up/morphing etc

same if your lighting is less intence from their previous home conditions can lead to fading/dullering etc,

it all depends on the colour strain of morph and all of these changes can happen either quickly or over a period of time depending on any shock factor the zoa's are treated to.
