Zoos that actually change thier color ???

That's right, I have some zoos that regularly change their color !!! I am not certain, but think that I got these from Reefs to Go. If I remember, not really sure, but think that they were named Kiwis ??? Some days, all of the polyps are the dark navy blue color with only a couple that are the lighter yellow/ chartreuse green with a wagon wheel looking center. Other days they will change to say maybe 25% of the polyps the lighter color. Then maybe a day ,2 later they are all the dark color again ??? I have never seen nor had zoos that do this. I have just recently started keeping a pretty detailed log and will try to find a correlation that is linked to the event. Sometimes when you look at them, you may only see 1 or 2 of the green polyps. Any one else have these or have seen them before ??? Anyone figured out what triggers the color changes. I have recently been striving really hard for good consistent husbandry and have not noticed them changing as much as they use too. Here's are a picture of them., they are the smaller ones, not the big green palys. I am pretty certain that they change back and forth. Not just a color phase at the beginning of a new polyp. They are my favorites !!!

Some times zoas will change colors because you changed the lights.
If you feed certain foods and/or add some additives they tend to do that too, because of that particular combination going on in the system.
There are other things that could change the colors of zoanthids in captivity and they are mostly related to water chemistry. People call "morphing".
When you see them changing to a darker color it's probably because their zooxanthellae population is higher than before.
Normal.

Grandis, I am thinking maybe you misunderstood my post ? The zoos change colors regularly. Back and forth, it is not really permanent when they are smaller to midsize. Although the older more mature larger ones stay the darker color.

Well, they must stop changing colors at some point, I would think. LOL!
No, that isn't normal.
Are you sure that isn't your imagination? LOL!
:D
Would be interesting to record the event with pictures taken with the same camera.

No, not my imagination. I will watch the zoos in the picture above, when they change to the dark color, I'll post another picture.
