zoos with white fuzz on them

i got a zoo colony from another member and when i recieved it the water was really warm so i acclimated the temp for about an hour then placed it in the tank. I received the frag on wednesday and it still hasnt opened. Last night i discovered some white/clear fuzzy stuff on it.....some of the polyps have opened but not many.....i placed it in a high flow area recommended by someone in my local reef club.....i'm on the search for lugols to dip it but i'm stuck at work for the next 2 days so the first day i'd be able to go on a search will be sunday....another other suggestions guys

if they don't look like they are going to make it, cut off any healthy/open polyps. you can try to peel the white fuzzy stuff off. lugols would help, but alas...

I've heard that hydrogen peroxide mixed 50/50 with your own tank water is a good treatment for white fungus. That is certainly worth a try.

really?? wow, never heard that. any chance you know where you heard that? personally, i wouldnt try it unless i saw documented pictures to prove that it worked.

I have heard that also.....There was a thread about it awhile ago....

I think it was in the zoanthid draft forum and I know several people that use it religiously to treat new arrivals. It can be harsh on the zoas from what I've heard but no harsher than a fresh-water dip. You just give it about the same length of time you would a FW dip from what I've been told. I still think it doesn't hurt to cut off as many of the unhealthy polyps as possible and even to take off a little of the healthy polyps next to the fungus to keep it from spreading.
