I normally target feed a mixture of 2/3 phyto and 1/3 zoo to the corals a couple times a week. I also target feed baby brine and cyclopeeze. Will start oyster eggs one of these days also...
Yes, I am a heavy feeder believer for fish and corals My tank always runs 0/0 on nitrates/phosphates so I figure I need to make up for it.
your sps don't need phytoplankton. Just get some oyster feast or zooplankton. Where did you read that ulns is bad? have you took a look at some of the nicest tanks around the world? A lot of them are running zeovit. Look at the past TOTM as see hoe many of them are running really low nutrients.

I've looked around plenty, and ULNS with no feeding or other special care = pale corals and slow growth. Most TOTM aren't ULNS anyway. Zeo, yes. Carbon dosing, yes. But only to get the tanks close to ULNS due to heavy bioload.
Have you seen the RC TOTM this month? Nutso! Not ULNS though. Low nutrient, but not ULNS.
You do understand that using zeovit Is considered ulns right? LOL a lot carbon like Bio pellets are also ulna. Feeding your sps has nothing to do with ulns, a lot of people feed heavy but have ways to exports the waste which still results to very low nutrients.
I'm not saying that ULNS systems are bad, I just meant feeding a few flakes 2 times a week isn't working for me. I only have 3 small fish in a 120 gallon. Thanks for your responses.
Yeah 3 small fish in a 120 is not much. I have 3 fish in my 20 gallon sps tank and i still feel i can add a fish or two. I am running neozeo ulns and things are rock on!
