.08 am/nitrite 1/nitrate 50

Okay yesterdays test read .08 ammonia / nitrite 1 / nitrate 50

More sand was added to the tank two nights ago as well as Octo 2000 protein skimmer.


Any suggestions on this? It's my understanding I wanted to see the ammonia hit 0 which I haven't yet. The nitrites to hit zero (they went up from before) and the nitrates to build up (its higher too).


Anyone have suggestions on what I need to do.
