1.75" Wave height!

Hi Roger,
In my 120 gal aquarium 4x2x2, the wave is about 1.75" which is 1 inch higher than what many users get with similar configuration, I am so excited at this point but fear that when I start filll the tank with rocks and corals, the wave will reduce by 1 inch. Is it true that there is difference in wave height when tank is empty vs. full of rocks, if answer is affirmitive than by how much.

Would it matter that much if there are rocks directly sitting in front of the output, because the pump unit is sitting deep in the water column.

It shouldn't affect it that much. I assume your wave is higher because you either have a center overflow or your tank is without an overflow. I get a max of 1" in my 75.

yeah, I have corner overflow and the wavebox is placed right next to it. Oh, the tank is filled with fresh water only, could the high wave due to that and will reduce dramatically after mixing with salt since water will be much more dense.

That I don't know. I would not expect more than about 1.25" at most when it is all set up.

Just installed an additonal wavebox in my 7' x 30" x 42" tank, able to create 1.5" wave.

After addition of salt to 1.026, I am still getting 1.75" on the wavebox side and 1.25" on the opposite side, and I just totally love it, not only I am getting wave at the long side of the tank but wave can also be observed on the wide side of the tank. On top of that, I see double wave in my 4'x2'x2', hopefully this won't change after addition of sand, rocks and corals.
