The not so great is this 65 gal red sea max 250 for color. The monti green part of the issue and most noticeable, while other (birdsnest) are growing but without great color
So the issue is why is this tank so hard to keep the parameters steady! I had great color before with the green monti then I believe I messed up getting ready for steady dosing and raised the ALK to high to fast and the green monti became lighter and browned out...
Now its been 5 months and still the color is not as great as it was... I recently placed a birdsnest from my 29 gal to the 65 and comparing the same coral the color was substantially different.
Since the mistake with the alk... i had to replace a ballast
so there are 6 t5's 39 W
from front to back this is it

Your biocube is gorgeous, amazing colors. 2 i had a rsm 250 and had great success with it. Corals grew very nice and good colors. I had about the same bulb set up as you 4 blue +, 1 ab spec, 1 fiji purple. I will admit thought that the t5 used by RS are not the greatest but they work. Second the skimmer is not the greatest either so if you can change it http://www.nanoreefsystems.com/RED-SEA-MAX-250-2-PUMP-NANO-SKIMMER-p/nrs3.5-1.htm. Works really good. I also vodka/mb7 dosed with amazing results on it and have to say best colors i had. Im guessing the rsm is nutrient Ritch so this might be the reason for browning. GL
