after doing some more research ive found that the above setup isnt really necessary. sounds like just a plain old eclipse 12 or stock minibow would be sufficient. i just want to provide the best home that i can.

nvm, i just figured it out. that is a great deal! may have to consider it though i have heard many things about cracking, etc.

well i think im going to get the nanocube. could i do a semi barebottom tank with the mantis. i was thinking about sealing in an acryllic piece with black moon sand glued over it. that way i get the cool look of black moon sand without all the troubles of cleaning it. any thoughts?

and is $50 a bad price for a 2 inch mantis? its either o. scyllarus or g. smithi. if i get a scyllarus i would put it in my 20 but that would be one big mantis. ill try to get a pic of it so we can id it.

well im going to stick with my 20H afterall. going to have a giant piece of liverock(maybe 2) and a moai statue. going to keep my cleaning crew too. :)

To me $50 for a 2" mantis seems a touch high but not totally unreasonable. Supply and demand, if you have been looking for a long time its reasonable.
