10 gallon LPS nano

Would it be possible to do a sumpless, fugeless 10 gallon tank with mostly LPS corals and some soft corals?

Things are far from set in stone but I was thinking of something like:
10 gallon glass tank
22 LBS of LR
10 pounds of aragonite sand
2 clowns
ligting- PC
corals- mostly LPS with some softies
inverts- snails, few shrimp, few crabs
small HOB or internal to hold phosban media


What do you think? Any problems do you think will arise from this tank? How many watts of lighting would you reccomend?

I think it's definitely possible. Just make sure you perform weekly water changes (~20%) to get rid of the organic wastes and to replenish essential elements.

You can but I'd rather just do water changes for such a small tank.

Thanks! I was looking at this filter called Skilter Filter. Its a HOB power filter with a built in protein skimmer. If I removed the media and replaced it with phosban would it be good for my tank? This would save me space within the aquarium as it replaces the would be powerheads, protein skimmer, and HOB.

The only thing that concerns me is the flow rating at 250 gph. Would
this be too much for soft corals? I want to fill this tank to the rim with corals, but wouldnt I have to avoid placing corals near the filter?

The skilter doesnt actually skim at all. You could make a DIY HOB refugiam out of a AC 110 pretty easy. All it requires is a acrylic or plexiglass baffle which you can buy a sheet of and the cutting tool for real cheap at a lowes or Home depot. Check out the nano DIY sticky thread, there is a thread about doing this. You can also configure it to allow you to put media before the fuge.

i used to have a 10 gallon setup and had a protein skimmer an hob and a powerhead and it did fine. i kept lps and softies with no trouble.
