Hi i just setup a 10 gallon tank with a duel strip light with 50/50 bulbs, a penguin 330 with the bio wheels removed, maxi-jet 400, 50 watt heater, 6-8 pounds of live rock, half inch mix of southdown and live sand, 1 scarlet hermit, 2 zebra hermits, 1 emerald, 2 astrias, 1 turbo, and 2 keyhole limpets. all the rock, sand, and livestock were taken from my 75.

I want to make this a mantis habitat however i have yet to locate one. In the meantime is there anything else i need to add to this tank or any modifications you would recomend?

If anyone knows were i could order a decent sized mantis or has one they are looking to sell please let me know.

Saltwaterfish.com -sell Peacock Mantis

LiveAquaria.com -sells Clown Mantis

Those are the only two that I know of but I am sure there are more. I am also looking into a 10 gallon mantis tank good luck with yours.

No Problem. My mistake but it sure looks like it could be. They make them look amazingly real these days.

My buddy has the AK style airsoft and except for the plastic stock and hand grips it looks just like my AK47.

Sorry If I find something else I will tell you. LiveAquaria ussually re-stocks pretty often I would check back every other day or so.

I saw the picture of your setup and it looks good, but in my opinion I would move all the rocks to the left or right side of the tank and create some caves there. Then you have an open space to see him hunt and you could add some plants for color.

I deffinatly need to rearange it. I don't realy care for the look of it right now i am also going to add a pound or two of rock rubble so he can build doors for his caves.

Another thing i was thinking of doing is a small patch of shaving brush in the front right corner a rubble field in between and the rock stacked in the rear left. I am also going to add another inch of sand. How does this sound. I will post another picture once i rearange the rock.

I think it sounds great. Your making me jelouse that I cannot set my tank up right now. I think it will be another week or two before I get all my stuff. I might be adding a skimmer to mine just so I do not have to worry much about water quality. Getting a skimmer and a decent light setup will be asking a lot from my parents though. Hmmm I can always use the ....
"Would you rather have me be interested in drugs than SWF?"

:)

I am also thinking of replacing my 330 with a skimmer when the finances/wife will allow. So who knows when that will be.

Here we go i did some rearanging and this is about the only thing i can do since this is two large pieces and five smaller ones that would allow me an open space. I also added another maxi-jet 400. This seems to look like a larger tank now. This should allow me some space for some plant life and a little rubble field. What do you think?

Yep... They are pretty expensive. I do not know if you saw this or not but you have to get 70 dollars minimum and then you get free shipping. Since the Peacock is only 50 I would get some shaving brushes and blade plants to add some decorativity and help on keeping nitrates under control. Just a suggestion. Maybe just some food for him hehe.

I am looking at some shaving brush for his tank and a queen conch for the 75 reef. This should give me the minimum $75

Thanks for the info -Dave-

I found your thread while learning about mantis... But just wanted to say great pick of your AR... I have a 20" A2 bipod scope and laser... I own 7 weapons and the AR is an incredible piece for any collection... Every one who I let shoot it wants to get one... Great pic

Thanks JSB5776

It's a pre ban Olympic Arms AR15 lower and upper with a 7.5 inch heavy barrel, freefloat aluminum hand guard, alumanum 4 position stock and vortex flash supressor. It's very accurate for a shorty, it suprised me. Its so light i feel like i am going to break it every time i take it out to shoot. I am constantly loseing the tiny springs and pins when i tear it down. All and all a very good weapon but for reliability, rugedness and ease of maintenance the AK's, Dragonovs, and SKS's win hands down.

I change my avatar every so often with a different pic of a weapon from my collection.
