10 Gallon Nano

20 Inch 2x18 Watt AquaticLife T5 HO Light Link Fixture is going to be inadequate for anything but a fish only tank. Lowest light 10 gallon tank I've run had 2X26 watt curly PCs and I only had mushroom corals in the tank, and even that was marginal.

No offense, but that's not true depending on the brand and out put. I ran 2x 18 watt nova on my 10 gallon, and had great results from it. I kepy all softies and a couple LPS. Everything did great. I don't think I would try any high light demanding SPS though.

The 4 x 20in one completely covers the tank, length and width. I do not think I will have an issue with lighting, I had to go so far as to build a shelf over the tank and hang the light because the legs would not reach above the HOB filters.

I doubt the NH3 spike was caused by the fish dying, it wasn't in there long enough to decay and start a spike. More then likely your young tanks biofilter (i.e. liverock) was overwhelmed by the addition of two fish at the same time and their associated bioload.

Sorry to hear about your loss, hopefully the rest pulls through.

I am leaning more towards the young tank. My inexperience jumped up and bit me =/. Poor clown paid for it. However I was able to fix the mistake and save everything else. Ammonia is almost 0 now so are nitrates and nitrites are gone. Everyone especially the Anemone is very happy now. Thanks everyone for the input.

Does the light with legs equipped have enough clearance for the aquaclear filter?

It has about 1.5 - 2 in of clearance. I put a small shelf above my tank and hung the light from that. I will try to upload some pictures later. Hope that answers you question. The light itself is the exact same size as a standard 10 gallon tank.

Yea I ordered one for my 10g. Personally I've had good experiences with the Aquaticlife 48" version over a 4 ft tank. It's an excellent entry level product. The only downside I see is the lack of bulb choices for 20" model. Thanks for the heads up, good to know it will clear.

It did not clear mine. Then again I have a aqua clear 110 well over sized for the tank. Here is what mine looks like now. As far as bulb choices, these seem to work great. With it being such a small tank. Then again I am still sort of new so I may not have the color's perfect but everything in my 10 gallon seems to be very happy.
