1000 Gallon Build- Here we go- Lots of Pictures

Do you have a preliminary fish stocking list? Always love to see who others stock large tanks :)

I'm still a fish guy... trying to get into coral (putting a big frag tank together), but keep coming back to fish...

Better option is to use green board and use the thin white, coated board. it almost feels like fiberglass and is used in many food prep areas. It is waterproof and easily wiped down, if needed.
FRP - Fiber Reinforced Plastic panels

Cool build  can't wait for more updates!!
When can the local tours begin???? It's never too early.....

looks like its going to be stunning. wish you were doing a reef though, are you sure you can't be tempted .
please just promise me one thing , don't have one of those plastic coral things !

I'm gonna get hate mail from all the plastics now… I was only joking I love the plastic corals….dont do it!

Thank you everyone for tagging along. No updates for anyone for now. I'm off for an overseas trip for a few weeks. By the time I get back, the builder has told me that they anticipate starting drywall. Will post some more photos upon my return. Thx

Hi everyone- Sorry for the delay in updates. We have been busy with the house and lots of construction. A 10 day trip out of the country certainly didnt help. Anyways, drywall starts tomorrow. Ill go to the house and snap a bunch of updated photos and post them. Everything is progressing nicely, albeit a bit too slowly for my taste. I want to move in already. :)

Thank you everyone for tagging along. Things have been hectic and busy but I managed to get some photos along the way. We are definitely full speed ahead with regards to construction. The drywall started last week. A few minor issues caused a delay for a few weeks while we made sure we had all the plumbing and electrical just right because once drywall goes up, it becomes much more expensive to add any items.

Anyways, here is the front door that has been placed. The frame is in, the actual door goes in next week. This is the approach to the house.

Here is a view from the inside of the house:

Here is our main hallway. Insulation is in place- drywall ready to go up. We did insulation in all the interior walls to help with sound protection:

This is my bar area. Again- more insulation. We did regular insulation on the vertical walls. All the ceilings were foam insulated.

A view from the bar area to the kitchen/great room

Drywall is going up. this is one of my daughters rooms:

This is my garage with the fish room. The fish room we decided to foam insulate for better results. I did foam insulation in my wine room as well.

Nothing more to report right now. We will be installing the tank after drywall goes up in the entire house and they paint it. So still another 6-8 weeks to go before I have anything major fish related to share with everyone. Thank you all again for following along. Appreciate all the great comments.

beautiful home! My high schooler is trying to decide what college field of study to go into, looks like you are very successful, what do you suggest?

Thank you. I wish I could offer good career advice but all I will say is whatever she decides to do, make it count. Dont half a$$ anything. Obviously the chances of success are higher if you choose a professional field (doctor, lawyer etc). However I know plenty of successful people that never went to college. Just be wise with your education and choose something you are passionate about and something that is marketable.

Thanks for tagging along.

Spectacular! Love some of the architectural details on the arches. Well done.

Thank you. My wife and I were actually surprised when all the features started being framed as we never truly realized how it would look when we saw it on paper.

Thanks for following along everyone.
