1000k's for faster growth?

I haven't had the need to get another bulb yet. Still running the 14k Phoenix with decent growth. When the time comes I will try the 10k though. Just not sold on which 250w DE bulb to get.

I went with the reeflux 12k because one of the local guy has an awesome tank and said he gets greath growth with it. So far I have no complaints, I like the color

Just a side note on the Radiums. I know they're listed as 20k bulbs, but running the 400 watt Radium on a (now defunct) PFO HQI ballast or new Galaxy 400 watt electronic (which is what I use) is the bomb!

I have not seen a difference in growth switching from 10k and the corals and fish look amazing. When overdriven on the above ballasts, the life of the bulb is noticeably decreased, but it definitely isn't the Windex look you get from a standard 20k. I would say it's a crisp 12-14k. The light cast on the back wall of my tank which is tiled with white subway tiles is definitely more white than blue. These bulbs by themselves don't even look like they need actinics.

Check out Reefbum's TOTM and judge for yourself if growth with these bulbs is slow. (lol)
