10g Nano FOWLR

ok then. I plan on going out and getting a turbo snail today to help with the algae in the tank. I'm getting a lot of brown algae, and I see some hair algae too. My hermit is munchin' away at it, but I think he could use some help.

OK thanks. O, and on the Blacktail Chromis, I still can't find any additional information on it. It's kinda startin' to bug me. But O well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it works out. They all get along most of the time, sometimes they even share territories. I wish I could just add a little more color to my tank though.

Whats the average price of those? I was thinkin' of some peppermint shrimp...maybe. I dont know. Gosh, everything in my tank is pretty much right on except for like 2 things. I'm gonna warn yall so you ain't trippin' so don't hate, lol. 1st: When I first started gettin' everything together, told the parentals to get me the cheapest filter while they were at the store. What do they get me.........a UGF! JEEZE.......2nd thing, they noticed that I didn't have a substrate......so they get me little white rocks, about the size of the letters on your keyboard! I didn't want to make them mad so I just accepted it. I am gettin' a powerhead to put in the UGF. It's all freaked up now, but it works. Hope you enjoyed this little story! lol

lol, I noticed you didn't say anything else....good. lol. I have another question. When I bought a piece of LR, It had about 6 or so little red things on them, they looked like little trees and they were hard. Are these some kind of coral?

I don't add any calcium to my water and I have turo snails that a very healthy. I don't know about the little red things. Your fish should be fine with a UMG. You could always upgrade you filter later.

ok thanks! Thats a relief cuz I was freakin' out! I decided I am not going to get the snails now because I can wipe the algae off. So I think I might get some hermits.

I have some blue leg hermits. Some people have had problems with them but I haven't had any. I would get 2 or 3 snails. It makes your job of cleaning the glass much easier.

It depends on their growth rate. I had some sheels on the live rock I got from my LFS. In my 90 gallon they use the shells of dead turbo snails that died years ago. Hermits will trade shells with each other so the shells I wouldn't worry about. You go to your LFS and see if they have any empty shells lying around in their tanks for you.

I've been reading a little on turbo snails, because later I actually do plan on gettin some. But now I'm worried because when they get tipped over they die! Why is that?

What??? Ive never heard of turbo snails dieing when they get tipped over. Never happened to any of mine. Where are you reading this?
