I posted these over in nano section at RC. Thought I would put one here also. The little tank has changed alot. When I first revived the tank I only thought to clean it up. Then it became my LED experimental trial and error tank. Now I would really like to see how far I can take it. There are many changes even since this photo. I placed one tiny little fan taken off a computer. The tank has always been a warm tank. SPS and LPS have grown fine at 84 degrees. The fan cooled it to 76. I will see what type of resonse I get.

Love it Kevlow, thing is nasty! Looks awesome I'll be curious to see what the cooler temps do for you.

kcs, thanks. I am anxious to see what happens with the cooler temp. This tank occupies me while the new tank my wife bought me is getting established.

The new tank is a 35g display shallow reef, 48 x 24 x 8h. 40b sump with additional tub for skimmer draining into the 40b. Lighting is Tek 48" six bulb. I know nothing about T-5s!

It cycled for a month without lights. For two weeks now it has low cost, easy coral frags to try to get the eco / bio balance established. I can't wait to start placing SPS and good looking corals

Man that is sexy...I want to do something like that in the garage. Very nice! Is that Barfly's old setup?

I don't know who barfly is, but my wife purchased it from someone at the frag swap who had a display. The stand came with it. The sump and tub arrangement are my amature work. Tried to copy ideas seen online here.

I saw Jon the other night and he said that somebody's wife bought his frag tank so i am assuming it might be his. Regardless I love that look and something I would like to do in the future. Thumbs up for sure!

Hey Kev-NIIICE tank & awesome cap! If you have any left, I'd love a frag of it...I have plenty stuff to swap if interested. Swampy

kcsnook,

I love the avatar. But, how can you be kc snook with a tarpon in the pic?

kevin

Kevin - Thanks man Ive used Kcsnook since I was 14 so im so used to it. Kctarpon just doesn't flow. Big tarpon guy I fish the poons exclusively so I guess it is time to change it up I suppose.

Kcsnook- I guess that is your son w/ you in the photo. Great way to raise your kids. 5 years in Costa Rica was like that for me. Came back in 1999 and the kids wanted to play sports and race; not fish, dive and surf. When the youngest is grown then I will return to my time on the water. For now it is reefing in my living room to keep me satisfied.

Tight Lines,
kevin

Kcsnook-- I put my glasses on and looked at the pic again. I guess now that might not be a kid in the photo. sorry for the mistake.

schudini: Thank you. I take it that was you that I was talking to about my son's starfish. I have let him know to get to get that out of his tank at school.

wsurf4me: Thanks. Yes the pumps were perfect for the new tank. One is fuctioning as the return pump and the other is circulating the water in the sump. Anything larger would not have worked out. The bulbs in the tek 6 48" are as follows:
front
blue plus
blue plus
aqua pink
pure actini
aqua blue special
blue plus.
Back
this is my first real experiene with T5s. I do not know if I like the pink. I might swap it out for another blue plus. Right now only basic corals to start the tank off with.

ddavefish: Thanks. I am liking it more everyday.
