10g pic

Glad to hear the pumps worked out.

I'm not a fan of the pink or the fiji purple but they say it helps with reds. You could always swap it out for another blue special for a little more growth.

Since the tank is new I will probably wait it out awhile and see how it stablizes. One I get a base line established then I will make the change.

The bio pellets seem to be working in the new 35g. Greatly reduced the bryopsis and algae. Just made a bacterial slime though. Put a black long spine urchine in there and he stripped the rock clean. Everything; bryopsis, GHA , coraline, little feather dusters gone stripped to the bare rock. Will post close up photo later. I think the pellets' bacteria are just slowly consuming all the trate's and phos. right out of the water. It is about four months old now. Lps have done good. Put in some basic starter SPS. Will not do anything more until the algae settles down and all params are good. Last check nitrate was an 8 and phos. was .07.

Pretty darn close. I need a better camera for macro shots. The BN is alot more blue then in the pics. Almost looks translucent in the photo. I can't focus and bring out color and detail on the back row[ tri color, stylo, tort, unknown acro]. I haven't learned to photo shop yet or to use photobucket.

Jayson,

Everything is going good. The blue chalice is in both tanks. I broke a small piece off to put in the 10g and the big piece in the 35g shallow display. Ironically, the small frag in the 10 looks the best. It has not grown the most but it has colored up more and looks alittle meatier. also the Eyes look more built up and better formed. The larger piece has grown some but is still a light powder blue. Don't know if that is because the LEDS in the 10g are better then the t5s in the 35g. Also had dino and bryopsis issues in the 35.

Anyway the small frag is sitting on the sand bed of the 10 and doing very well. When I get the big cap moved out of the 10 to the 35 then I will mount the blue chalice higher. the big cap in the center is taking up space but I don't want to move it until I am happy with the 35.

Thanks for sharing your tank with me and my wife after the meeting. I will be interested in more frags when the 35 is stable and doing well.

Had to move the monti cap to another tank. The Hydno attacked and ate half an acro. Had to spread out the LR. this gives more room to grow out the pieces and to add an sps frag or two.

One of my favorites. I have never seen another just like this. It was a small blue brain coral. The LFS did not know what they had. Bought it a year and a half ago for twenty dollars. Have fed it conservitively because I have not wanted it to grow too large too fast.

Filter Feeder Food from Reefcleaners. Started using this in my tank 2-3 weeks ago. Have noted increase in color and growth in both LPS and sps. Tri color was having trouble coloring up. In less then three weeks has purpled up and has approx 10 new arms branching out. Cali tort already was good but appears to have increased growth rate and has far more PE.

Lps growing fast and being fraged. Immediate feeding response from acans , brains and trumpets.

Pods are multiplying fast.

I am very glad someone else referred me to this food. It was very cheap. It does not appear to dirty up and nitrate up the tank as fast as oyster feast or coral smoothie but I still use these in rotation.
