10G reef build

Little update.. Two things I would change.. Get slip fit fitting for the bulkhead, alot easier to remove the elbow to change pumps. The MJ 1200 is way too much flow. The corner was always bare from way too much flow and the crabs and snails wouldnt go in that side of the tank. I have replaced it with a MJ 600, almost perfect! I think the 900 would be the ticket. I put the 1200 in my 28G nanocube. The 1200 makes alot of noise, a loud hum. The 600 is dead silent, wich is good since this tank is in my sons room.

I have not seen any sign of cycle, I guess adding the live rock and sand right from my nano cube seeded well.

Well I picked up a few more things for the tank today. A nice Blue shroom and a pair of tiny black clownfish.

Thanks.. I surprised my son with them. They are only like 3/4". I might add a green clown goby or a court jester goby and thats it. Ill wait a couple of weeks first though. Id like to get a nice chunck of hammer or frogspawn in there as well.

Awesome build! Nice rock and aquascaping. You will notice more evaporation on a smaller tank since the surface area to volume ratio is bigger. But not having a cover contributes a lot as well :-). You said that your MJ1200 was noisy. Is that a newer made-in-china MJ? thanks

Not sure where it was made I just bought it new this year. I even took it out of my JBJ 28 nano, just too damn noisy. I guess it will be good for mixing saltwater:uhoh2:..

Update.. Tank has been up and running for just over 6 weeks now. Everthing is doing fine. Livestock to date is a pair of black clowns and 1 tiny green clown goby. I have a red mushroom, blue mushroon, couple of small toadstools, duncan, and a neon green tree coral (not sure of the name). I also purchased an an Anemone for my 28G but after 2 weeks it looked horrible so I transplanted it to my 10G and it looks a little bit better. I bought it as a bubble tip but it looks wired to me, no tips at all?? Any ideas on it?

Bit of an update on my 10G.. Both of my clowns died the same night a while back.. Not sure what happened there, all params seemed to be in check. The anemone never recovered either. Other than that the corals are going nutz. I also bought a small domino damsel for something to look at.
