10x80W T5 ballasts on Profilux Driver Blank

If I'm retrofitting a 10x80W pendant with dimmable ballasts,
can I survive on just one dimmable driver blank?

that means driving 6x80W on one channel and 4x80W on another channel

i understand that the 6/4 will be dimmable together on 1 channel

cheers

This is not possible! Each ballast will draw up to 40A in the moment of switching on (please ask the ballast manufacturer for the exact inrush current, maybe you can obtain a datasheet). The relays on the driver blank will work up to appr. 100A. That means: Max. 2 ballasts per channel!

Hi Matthias,

Thanks for replying.

What does it mean if the specs says only
"Control voltage: DC 1ââ"šÂ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å“10 V acc. to EN 60929 with current source 0.5 mA"

No explicit mention of the in-rush current

If one ballast drives 2x80W tubes, does that mean i can hook 2 ballasts to that channel and drive 4x80W? or would it be safer to just drive 2x80W on one channel?

Matthias,

I will be getting exact inrush current ratings for the ballasts.

However, is it safe to assume <10x operating current?

Assuming that, 160Watts/240V = approx 1A
Which means estimated 10A in rush current?

Or am I thinking too easy?

Cheers

"If one ballast drives 2x80W tubes, does that mean i can hook 2 ballasts to that channel and drive 4x80W?" - yes

"However, is it safe to assume <10x operating current?" - no, better refer to datasheet

Hi Matthias,

Could you guide me to where I can get my hands on 2x80W dimmable ballast compatible to the driver blank?

Cheers
