HOW DO YOU...

HOW DO YOU...

How does one get involved in the bidding? I'm interested in restocking my 60 gallon reef that had a major meltdown 2 months ago and I like what I see :eek2:

Can somebody please inform me as to what and how to do whatever I need to do to take part???

Thanks!

I have also been trying to get a bidder number, am I doing something wrong? I have been saving up for this event for weeks and can't wait for next weekend.

Its a live event. You have to be present to bid. It works like other Auctions...........well sorta....the auctioneer, Robert, has his own reef style. He'll make you laugh.

In the first post of this thread are links to additional information.

If you come, you can register to bid that day. Just be there a little early.

if you don't have a bidder number be sure to show up early to sign up for a bidder number.

if you show up late and the auction has already started then you have to wait for the half time break and will miss out on the bidding in the first half.

the sign up area will be the person running the lap top computer, see them ASAP than look around.

PS have a pen and your list ready when you come so you don't miss out on the coral you want.

But, what if I would like to sell off a couple of frags, can that be done just by showing up?

you need to PM Tasiamay first. she will get you started.

Dumb question maybe?

Dumb question maybe?

Ok,

As dear old Dad used to say, "if you have to ask, you can't afford it", but... What have some of the selling prices landed at at some of the past auctions? Just curious as I'm anxious to re-stock the old reef tank but on a bit of a shoe string budget. So, I'd like to get a general idea of about what to expect cost wise if anyone knows please....

Thanks

It will all depend on what you are wanting.
Usually softies go for the low amounts $1-10.
LPS $5 - 15.
SPS is the higher stuff, some rare frags go into the $80 range, but most are in the $10 - $20 range.

Figure your budget and then expect to double it to be safe! :)
Research, Research and more research!

Strictly SPS... Some LPS, monti's etc... if it's the right stuff, ie... "EYE POPPING" :eek2:

I'll have to see, I was actually planning on a motorcycle ride that Saturday and I'm kinda tight this month. I thought I read somewhere that you have these auctions "monthly" is that right? I'd like to plan on next month for sure at least and maybe future months to come if I like what I see?

I'll watch this forum and maybe someone could keep me posted?

Thanks!

I will have a few things. I will get pics of everything up on Monday or Tuesday.
1. Neon Blue Spot Shroom Starting Bid $1.00
2. Lavender with Gold Center paly sb $1.00
3. NICE FRAG 7 large Polyps of TEAL SPOTTED purple death looking palys (AMAZING!) largest paly is about the size of a dime sb $5.00
4. 20 polyps of Aqua Palys sb $1.00
5. BLACK WRATH paly. (Mine are lavender) I need to watch it, its a little POed after fragging but should be there sb $20.00 (goes for $80.00 a polyp online)
6. 5-10 polyps of Blueberry Field Zoas

I might have a few other zoas but need to make sure they are ready for auction, recently fragged

OH and I have flatworms.... I will FW dip the frags but I suggest QT, no other bugs however.
