11' 325 gal Adventure

So here goes. Having multiple tanks throughout the years (6 gal-800gal) and one wife who hated all of them, change has happened in my life which has allowed me to examine more of myself than ever before. Through this 18month "examination" two things have stayed constant, and that is my love for my hobby, and of course for my beautiful daughter.

Since i was able to keep the house throughout my divorce process, it gave me the opportunity to keep what i wanted and changed what i didnt. So a 40 gal breeder tank went into the bedroom wall where the the TV once sat, my 128 custom tank in the living room will soon transform into an 11'x2x2 330gal monster. This tank will take up almost the entire back dining/livingroom wall.

Now normally the wife would say "no f*ing way", but there is no one to tell me "no" anymore. And on the contrary, i have an awesome, supportive, girlfriend now who loves the tank. She told me to get what i wanted(even though i would have anyway. my house, my money, my rules). She actually drove to phoenix from san diego with me, helped load this monster, and helped paint the stand too. Its is so sweet to have someone who truly wants to be part of something you enjoy as well. She also loves football, although she is a charger fan, and watches and supports me at my baseball games too. Definitely blessed with this one.

Anyway onto the tank.
Its 11'x2'x2' glass tank with dual overflows

110 gal sump that was a tank that i rigged up to house the skimmer(s), refuge, and return.

Skimmers for now are 2 octo extreme 250's.

Return pump: Eheim 1262

Lights: for now 4 Chinese LED 3 dimmable, 1 non dim. will be adding another in the future.
also there will be 2 80watt t5 in the front and 2 in the back

Flow:
this for now will be 3 tunze 6101, 1 6200 and 1 6085. If that is not enough i have 2 6055's 2 generic korallias that i have a wavemaker for as well.

Dosing will be done via a doser(deciding on which one)
I will be running biopellets, GFO and GAC through BRS and TLF reactors.

Controller:
Controlling of lights and heater will be through 2 RKL's as I am not technologically sound at all and this is so simple that i feel good about it.

The stand was very Blah and unfinished. So i removed the plain trim, and added a lip, trim pieces, and runners to give it a much needed face lift.

heres what it looked like in the trailer in phoenix.
We couldnt for the life of us seperate the tank from stand. I think silicone got between the tank and stand and stuck the tank and stand together. So we had to lie the tank and stand on its back and pray for 5 hrs that is was ok driving to san diego.

Pics of the tank that will become the sump.
The actual display tank is the one behind it. I painted the background blue.

I'm not jealous of what you went through to get to this point, but I am jealous that you're going to have such an amazing tank! Can't wait to see more!

congratulations & great build so far having an 11 ft tank is going to open up for a lot of possibilities your very lucky i have a 8 ft 300 but would trade for a 11 ft any day keep the pic's coming

Great tank !! Only thing that would worry me is that it's made of glass. That thing must be heavy !! A lot of us would love something like this, as would the fish that get put into such a long tank. Keep the pics coming on the build. Mind telling us how much you picked up this bad boy for?

Good to hear you found someone that supports you 100%... Not the controlling type. Congrats on getting your mojo back too! :inlove:

Keep the pics coming! :fish2:

Thanks guys.
This thing is a beast. 6 people had a tough time lifting the thing. So im planning on trying to get 10 for the move inside the house.
Yeah its glass but it eurobraced all along the inside and double braced on the top and through the middle crossbraces. Its thick glass!

Special thanks to Mineman as well. He help redoing the stand to make it a much, much nicer setup.

also i only needed a 100# box of rock from Reef Rocks. I was able to use some of my other rock that i acid and bleach bathed(seperately of course) plus got 2 beautiful pcs that were 30# and 45# from a local reefer for $50 total.
Plus i still have all my purple rock thats currently in the tank that will soon be replaced. I actually have waaaayyy too much, so itll go into the sump for sure.
