120 cube mods

Pulling the 120 down to re-rock. While its down we will add a herbie. No bends in the lines, anyone see any problems with this?

Has anyone mounted a gyre up and down in a tank? In a cube? It is on the back wall and keeps sifting sand at the front and creating a clear space on the bottom glass. I was thinking of mounting it sideways to see if that stopped the erosion.

Problems with what? Was there a diagram or something?

As to the gyre.. Yes they can be mounted vertically..

No, no diagrams but I was not sure if something somewhere depended on having a bend in the piping (resistance).

Any experience with mounting one vertically? I would ASSuME that it may cause some sort of vortex but thats desirable over the present problem

Mounted the gyre vertically. Changed the water flow significantly. What got me was snails came out of the sand and went to the glass. Normally they only appear at the presence of food.
