120 Gal Bottom Frame Crack!

Hello and thank you to all of you. I just joined this forum and I am also relatively new to the hobby. I have been maintaining freshwater for a bit now, but I decided to go big and go for salt. Yesterday I got a great deal on a 120 Gal tank. After picking it up and getting it home I noticed a small crack in the bottom frame. It's tiny and runs along with the bottom center brace, essentially making my bottom frame 2 separate pieces. The crack travels right down the middle of the bottom brace and up in a straight line. It's very thin, 1MM where visible and not visible along the middle of the brace. Is the bottom center brace crucial to the integrity of the tank? Isn't the tampered glass on bottom that's going to hold this girl together? I'm really wanting to fill it up and start the cycling. Thanks for your help.

Man, that's tough. I think that it would probably hold fine if you take steps to repair the brace. Without seeing the damage, it's hard to comment, but I'd be more inclined to not risk it if it were me. Could you provide some pics?

Pictures would definitely help. The brace is definitely needed to keep the center of the tank held together against the pressure of the water once it's filled. A cracked brace decreases the integrity of that holding power. Personally, I wouldn't risk it. I sure wouldn't want a seam failure due to a cracked brace. 100 plus gallons of water on the floor is not fun.

Ok, thanks for the replies. Here are two pics of the crack. Ir runs along the middle of the brace, really making my tank have two seperate bottom frames. Whats the opinion here?

picture two. You cant see the crack along the brace in the photo, so I lined it with red. just an idea of how it looks. You can see the crack coming up the back side of the tank.

OK correction to my post. A friend came over and did some poking and prodding. The crack doesnt actually go along the entire bottom brace. Just the first 1.5-2 inches on both sides. Can i run this or need to fix or trash the whole thing?
