Hi everyone! I have been in the hobby over a year and a half now and finally, i have had enough time to start this tank. I had a knee operation on the 28th and have recently acquired some time on my hands so i am all ready to take some time to fine tune my tank now.

Here is the tank:

And the sump:

And the skimmer (bubble magus curve 7):

And the livestock (Golden head sleeper goby, Flame fin tang, and 80 Nerite snails):

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated, Thanks:dance:

Thanks, the reason that it doesn't overflow is because i'm only using a mag 5 for the circulation pump and it has a check valve on it to not let it siphon when the power goes off.

Just to be sure I'd lower the water in the sump, check valves have a thing about getting stuck when you least expect it. I like to keep my sump water level low enough to account for a power outage that turns off the skimmer and water back siphons from the overflow and return pump.

good luck with the build!

thanks, i'm going to use a grinding tool tomarrow and lower it about 2 inches, just to be safe.

grinding tool? Just remove about 2 gallons of water.

What I meant was something like a dremel to put slots in the acrylic and make the water level lower, I made the acrylic panels too high :headwally: so if i removed some water, the third section of the sump would decline.

Are you planning to put macro algae in the middle section as a refugium? If not why not just remove that last panel. Nice display what lights are you running?

Yeah i'm going to run a deep sand bed in the middle and some mangroves, and macro algea. For lights I will also be using a 48" t5 light in my custom fixture.

I will run 2 of these reflectors:

With 2 of these ballasts:

I am using one reflector and ballast on my 20 gallon tank now with a 14k bulb.

here is the other equipment I am using

Geo 618 calcium reactor (i have the co2 tank and regulator and circulation pump but they are not in the pictures):

A next reef nr1 media reactor with Gfo on the bottom and carbon on the top:

Finally the lighting that i am using at the moment (24" dual t5 fixture):
