120 Stocking List

Looked into things a little more and I'm mostly decided on my stocking list.

I currently have 2 Occ clowns, a Lawmower Blenny and Melanurus wrasse

I'm looking to add

One Spot Foxface
Red Line Wrasse
Yellow Coris Wrasse
2 flasher wrasses (carpenters, blue, yellow fin are my candidates)

Further down the line, I'd like to add a Mandarin, but that's a ways off after I'm sure the rock is well populated. Might add another smaller fish like Hawk fish or something as well.

Any obvious issues? I did some reading on mixing wrasses and the mix I have seems to be OK according to what I've read. Any other suggestions are also welcome.

I'm toying with the idea of a Lamarck Angel/pair as well, but am not sure because of room + I've heard a few bad stories about them and LPS. If I did do them, I'd probably skip the flashers.

You may have a hard time introducing the 2 wrasses with that Melanurus already in there. IME, I tried the same combo of wrasses and it did not turn out well. Lets say the Melanurus is still the only wrasse in the tank.

Consider a pair of swallowtail angels instead of the lamarck. Swallowtails are 100% reef safe in my experience. I also have a 120 DT and I love my pair of swallowtails.

I'm definitely worried about this. I'm thinking I'll put them in an acclimation box to see how the current resident reacts. Perhaps put the Melanurus in the box and let the other two explore. If I can't work it out, I'll go for another genus, I just love the Halichoeres wrasses.

If you can get them equal or bigger in size, it may work. You can also try the mirror trick. Mines did most of his damage during feeding time and when the white lights went off. Never could understand why.

So the wrasses arrived today. I ordered the Lamarcks, but BlueZoo didn't ship them because they said they don't have any that looked healthy enough to ship. The Wrasses immediately buried themselves, but I got a look at them and they are roughly the same size, one a little larger than the existing wrasse. I'm hopeful that'll help.

Gonna go look for centerpiece angels in town later in the week.
