120g Upgrade

Thanks. I still need to put the woodwork on to cover the extra depth of the new tank to get it to 100%.

Fun Fun.

very nice. can you tell me why you had to add the foam to the back wall? was that to support your plumbing?

Thank you.

Not supproting anything...yet....I will have some corals in the back wall eventually. I added the foam for that reason and to help conceal the bulkheads a little more. I was hoping that in time once it is covered in coraline and corals, that it will help add some depth to the tank possibly. If not, then the back wall be be covered in corals instead of seeing glass.

Thanks,

Todd

Thanks Larry.

Yes the sand does add something extra to the tank. :)

See how it goes. Fingers crossed I don't have any issues from the move.

Todd you better be careful those snails look like they're having a meeting in that center cave. I hope they are not planning a escape.

Hey Todd, did you apply the foam directly to the back of the tank? Also what was the cure time on the pond foam? I like the application, I have seen others do it I,m just not sure about doing it yet on my 120.

Thanks Fibber.....I applied it directly to the glass. It is the same stuff as "Great Stuff" You use it to seal gaps on windows, electric boxes...etc.

The total cure time is 24 hours. After about 30 minutes, the outer shell if you will, begins to harden. You have some time to play with it and I wish I would have done more manipulation of the foam to make crevices and cliffs. Lesson learned for the next tank.

It is really neat stuff. The snails, stars and hermits climb all over it.

Good luck with your 120. I think you will like the foam back if you decide to go that route.

Todd
