I have a 10g currently with a 2x24w t5ho fixture. I really want to upgrade the lights but don't like the heat issues that come with t5's or the cost that come with Kessels radions ect. My goal is mainly soft and lps but may want to attempt some easy sps in the future. Would this light be worth the buying or should I spend a little extra for a 160w?

I switched to these about 5 months ago and I don't regret it at all. My growth and color has been amazing and keeps getting better

The 120w is from aquatraders and the 165w is a galaxyhydro from amazon, I've pretty much decided that if I do buy one it's going to be the galaxyhydro, they are both dimmable so why not get the higher wattage

You might look at ReefBreeders, OceanRevive and ReefRadiance who are all sponsors here at RC (see forums below). Or MarsAqua on Ebay. At least these are all commonly used fixtures by people here on RC.

I've never heard of Aquatraders. Is that the fixture brand or the sellers name on Amazon?

Im running an Ocean Revive T247 on my JBJ45. Its got a lot more power than I expected. It has 48 3W Leds and runs a max of 120W. This doesn't make a ton of sense to me because that equals 144W but I'm sure some of the LEDs on certain channels draw less.
It runs a little hotter than some people give it credit for but it has a pair of fans on it that keep it under control.
I personally think that on a tank of my dimensions its slightly overpowered. Im running it on pretty low strength. The blues are very very blue and whites are bright as hell, you gotta play a little to find the happy medium but its not that hard with the controller.
