Why the feet on the stand? I guess if it were me, I'd add another in the middle, or none altogether.

so is your avatar!

Thanks

The feet on the stand is for when water spill i can clean it up if it goes under the stand. Plus it add more hight to the stand.

How long did it take you to build that and did it require a table saw? I am just starting my 40B build and I need to tackle the stand. I don't have a table saw though but i do have a circular saw, router, electric drill, and an array of other tools. Just no large wood working power tools.

if you go and get lumbar at HD or menards they will cut the wood for you, for nothing. Just make sure you plan everything preciously, factor in the 1/2" loss on 2x4s and 2x2s. The tool i used most was a drill, then a circular saw, then a chop saw, nail gun (so fun), then a jig saw, have a table saw but did not use it. Also I'm only 15 so things in the future may not look to great...

Ok so the tank should be up and running by next weekend. Not much progress on the stand other tan the doors. Stay tuned...

thanks, just to those who are wondering about the front, plywood will cover the entire front, so nothing will be exposed.

looks like its coming along nice. i'll be switching my 28g over to a 40 soon. almost the same gear besides besides pumps for flow and not drilling it. i'll definitly be following along and see how yours turns out.

ok, estimated day of setup is SUNDAY!
I'm working on the sump, installing baffles and i ran out of silicon. I'm getting a used Aquatraders 250w MH with upgraded ballasts (coralvues) should be here Tuesday. I have had two fish die unexpectedly so yea. Now my current stocking plan is
1 False Perc
1 Royal
1 YWG
-------------
future
3-4 Blue Chromis
or
Sixline and something else
or
a fuzzy dwarf lionfish

The dwarf lion will eventually eat all of your other tankmates, I'd avoid adding one. In addition, they tend to be really messy (resulting in water quality issues) and don't enjoy most reef lighting unless they've got a good sized cave to hide in during the day.
